Gordon Gates attended Maine Maritime Academy and Tulane Law School. At Tulane he served as Senior Articles Editor of the Tulane Law Review and graduated magna cum laude. He was admitted to practice law in Maine in 1991. For several years, he has concentrated his practice in the area of Social Security Disability law.

Mr. Gates has handled Social Security claims throughout New England, representing clients at hearings before administrative law judges. He has also presented appeals before the federal district court in Maine. He divides his time between his work as of counsel to Jackson & MacNichol and his own private practice.
